With the end of the semester fastly approaching and also with finals week around the corner, I would like to take this time and wish all my classmates a very Merry Christmas and a very successful New Year.
Now I'm not usually a sappy person like this, but I have had probably the best week in my life. And with being happy I guess I will extend a little cheer myself.
Many of you might be wondering what it was that has made me so happy this week. Well, nothing out of the ordinary, just everything that could possibly go right, simply did. No curve balls, disastors. Nothing. Then my son, Ethan, placed second in the Seneca Jr. High wrestling tournament last weekend. With his win, he also made sure that his team won first place in the tournament as well. Then this evening, my son again won both of his matches and his team won their dual meet. Of course tonight was the last of his school related meets. Starting Monday, we start with his traveling wrestling team with our first tournament at Diamond, MO. a week from this Saturday.
Again, I want to extend my sincerest holiday wishes to all my classmates. Please be safe also good luck with finals!!!!

Kelly to Be Named Next Irish Coach
Hold on Irish fans, Notre Dame has hired it's next football coach. According to a report released by NBC Sports, http://www.msnbc.com/ current University of Cincinatti coach, Brian Kelly, is going to be named the new football coach for the University of Notre Dame.
Brian Kelly has lead his team this season to a an undefeated 12-0 season and a birth in the BCS All-State Sugar Bowl. Brian Kelly has won the Big East Conference title the last two seasons and has brought the Cincinatti Bearcats to somewhat national prominance.
Here we go again. I am so sick of what the administrators at Notre Dame are doing. Back in the mid 90's the athetic director pushed for the retirement of legendary coach Lou Holtz. The school felt that Coach Holtz was to old and couldn't win enough and produce national championships. So then they hire Bob Davie, Holtz's defensive coordinator. His best season was a 9-3 season and a loss to Oregon St. in the Fiesta Bowl. Notre Dame then fires him and hires Tyrone Willingham. Willingham started out his first season with an 8-0 record with wins over Michigan and Florida St. He finished his season with a 9-3 record but loses his bowl game. The rest of his team's never accomplish anything and after a few years he is also fired. In comes 3 time Super Bowl champion offense coordinator for the New England Patriots, Charlie Wies.
Charlie Wies started out very hot. So good in fact that Notre Dame gave Wies a contract extention before his first season was even over. He did have success with his offense, but his defenses could not stop anyone. In only a few years the only significant win was the first bowl game win that Notre Dame has had since they defeated Texas A&M in the 1994 Cotton Bowl.
I am probably the single most die hard Notre Dame fan. I just hope that Coach Kelly will make the Irish a national power again.

Tiger Woods Mistress List Rises to 11
According to a story released by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/tiger-woods-mistress-now-11-tabs/story the number of alleged mistresses have now climbed to 11.
Mistress 11, other wise known as porn star Josyln James, has been made public of her involvement with Tiger Woods. However the 29 year old porn star is being very tight lipped about her "involvement" with Tiger although several text messages have been found to have been sent to her from Tiger's phone.
Wow. With all these mistresses, how in the world has Tiger found the time or the energy to even play golf? I guess to him one "hole" is as good as another. Sorry for the crude remark, especially for all the ladies in the class, but damn. This guy has everything going for him. Probably the best golfer that has ever played the sport. He has the model looking family. However I guess all is not what they seem behind closed doors.
In a related blog that I wrote last week about how I felt that Tiger's wife should be locked up for domestic assault. Since all these mistresses have be discovered, I say Tiger has got exactly what he deserved. I feel that in all actuality the damage that he caused his wife will have a far more lasting effect that his physical injuries. Not to mention if he would have passed along an STD to his wife. I hope that his wife will divorce Tiger and take him for everything that he is worth.

My Black Friday Experience
It was a cold and clear, nearing midnight when I made the most moronic decision of my adult life. I decided, with the pressure of my sister-in-law and brother, to go with them to Toys R Us the friday after Thanksgiving.
At first I thought, "hey this might be fun." In fact I was even looking forward to the grand shopping experience. Well after what I had experienced that night, i doubt that I will ever, ever go shopping again.
First things first. Let me start by saying that we all arrived at Toys R Us at 11:00 Thanksgiving night. When we arrived the line to get into the store was already backed up all the way down to Hastings Music Store. By the time the store opened it's doors, the line was as backed all the way to Factory Card outlet. During the wait in the horrible line, I couldn't help but to think about how stupid people really get during the Christmas shopping season. I mean, here are all these people, myself included, standing out in the cold waiting for a store to open to hopefully buy gifts that might save the consumer a little bit of many. Then as time got closer for the store to open up it's doors, people then tried to butt into the line instead of waiting like everyone else. It even got so bad that Joplin Police and to come in and restore order. People were actually arrested and there were fights to get closer to the front of the line. Now remember, me and my family memebers were in line at 11:00 p.m. We finally made it into the store at 1:00 a.m. It took us two hours to get into the store!!!!!!!! Just when you think that it couldn't get any worse. It did.
Once inside of the store I got to witness even more stupidity of the American shopper. People were running, pushing, and even yelling at each other for stupid toys. I seen one woman literally take a toy out of the hands of another woman because it was the last of that particular toy in the store. All I could do was just sit back and laugh at what I was witnessing.
For me I went on the trip purely for entertainment purposes. In fact I have been finished with all my Christmas shopping since the first part of November. All I have left to buy are just little items that are in abundant supply.
Now, a person might ask me, "Mike will you do the day after Thanksgiving shopping again?" My answer will be? ABSOLUTELY!!!! I had an awesome time laughing and making fun of all the serious shopper. My sister-in-law included.

Wal-Mart Greeter Hospitalized After Being Punched in the Face by Shopper
According to a story released by Fox News,http://foxnews.com/story? 72 year old Thomas Jenkins, a Wal-Mart greeter, was punched in the face by 55 year old Paul Washington. Video footage of the incident showed the attack to be unprovoked. Further details of the incident is still being investigated.
What in the world is going on in this world? More and more violence is happening all over the country. From teenagers burning another teenager over a video game to now senior citizens hitting each other. It seems that violence is starting to become more maintstreamed that ever before.
According to video footage, Mr. Jenkins was just standing at his post greeting customers as they walked into the store. Then the video shows Mr. Washington walking around the corner and then, out of the blue, punching the door greeter without cause. What's even more appauling about this story, is that Mr. Washington denies hitting Mr. Jenkins. What the hell? Mr. Washington was caught on video assaulting Mr. Jenkins and now he is denying that he did. Please. Mr. Washington, be an adult and take your punishment like a man.
My question about this whole incident is, what could have possibly been going through Mr. Washington's mind to just walk up to someone and just hit them? I know that I have had some terrible trips to Wal-Mart and have been pissed off over the amount of money that I spent in there. But I have never thought about taking my "Wal-Mart" frustrations out on the friendly door greeter.
What will Wal-Mart do know in trying to protect their door greeters? I suggest training on how to use the Taser.

Rachel Uchitel, Woman Linked to Tiger Woods Mum as Golf Great Gets Help
According to a story released by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.com.go/entertainment/tiger-woods-marriage-coounseling-rachel-uchitel-cancels-presser/ the alleged mistress of Tiger Woods, Rachel Uchitel, canceled her press conference.
Reasons for the cancelation of the press conference is still unknown, even though Ms. Uchitel attorney cites the reason as being a "conflict" of scheduling. Luckily for Tiger Woods she is not speaking to the press at this time. Tiger is currently undergoing counseling for his indiscreations and to try and repair his marriage.
I fully understand why Tiger is seeking counseling. I mean, he was allegedly beaten by his wife after she found out about his affairs. Plus I'm sure the trauma from the beating is also being discussed in his "treatment."
Now, here's what has gotten my blood boiling about this whole Tiger Woods mess. There is substantial eveidence that Tiger's wife beat him with a golf club when she found out about his mistesses, but was there any arrests made in the case? The answer to that question is no. In fact the Florida State Highway Patrol stated that no investigation would even be made. If this was a case of domestic violence that involved a non-celebrity, an arrest would have been made. Simple as that. Here again, a wealthy person has slipped through the justice system. Tiger's wife should have been arrested, plain as that. She committed felony assault with a deadly instrument. His wife will not, by under no circumstances, be arrested, nor charged, or not even investigated. Again money talks in the American justice system.
I do not condone the fact that Tiger Woods cheated on his wife. In fact he cheated appalls me and that he would jeapordize his family for sexual endeavors. However, there is no way on this earth that I would stay married to someone who attacked me with a golf club. What will she do the next time that Tiger messes up? The outcome could become a lot worse than what happend in this last incident.
I do believe the old saying, "hell hath no fury than a woman scorned." I be Tiger believes it now.

Hell's Angel Finds God At the Bottom of a Bottle of Booze
According to a story released by Foxnews, http://www.foxnews.com/story? 52 year old New York native Richie Kane has found God and vowed to change his life.
According to the story, Mr. Kane grew up in one of the more violent neigborhoods in the Bronx. He talks of a life of being beaten by his alcoholic father on a daily basis, sometimes beaten so badly that blood from his head would oftern stick to his pillow. He also talks of how he was sexually molested as a child by a neighbor across the tracks from where he lived and how he couldn't tell his father about the sexual assualt in fear of being beaten. He then goes on to talk about how he then turned to drinking himself stating, "it's the one thing that he and his father had in common." After all that, while as a teenager, he then turned and joined the Hells Angels.
After being severly beaten and left for dead by a rival gang, Mr. Kane "while swimming in booze," realized that he needed help. That's when he said that he found God.
Since then he has left the Hell's Angels and has even wrote a self published book, "The Bronx Street Kid: 12 Step Recovery."
This story is truly inspriring. First of all this man could have given up on life completely when he was a child. Second, he has turned his life around. Third, not only did he turn his life around, but he has taken life by the horns and refuses to let go. He not only has written a book about his life, but he now, at the age of 52, is going back to college. Wow. This man has chosen to live life to fullest instead of letting life get the best of him. He could have easily have given up on himself when he was a kid getting beating every day or when he was being molested or when he was himself an alcoholic.
I hope if anyone out there who is really down on him or herself, that they take a moment and look at this person who could have easily given up on life. But instead he chose to fight and now he is beginning to make himself role model on how a person can change their life around for the better if the person really wants too.

Man Charged in Child Sex Tourism Case Sentenced to 20 Years In Prison
According to story released by MSNBC, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33973875/ns/us_news_crime_and_courts Wayne Nelson Corliss was convicted for having sex with a child and sentenced for 19 1/2 years in prison.
I am so glad that this monster is in prison. This man traveled to Thailand and had sex with boys ages 6 and 9 years old. This man was also a children's entertainer often performing at children's parties and also as dressing up and playing Santa Clause. This man even posted blogs on the internet bragging on how he had the sex with the minors and how he used to "fondel" boys while they sat on his lap when he played Santa Clause.
The judge overseeing the case stated,"this is the most horrific case that I have ever sat on." Mr. Corliss's reponse to the judge. "I'm not the monster that has been prosecuted. I love and care for children."
How in God's name can he actually say that he cares for children? This man should be brought out onto the street and strung up. The public should be able to walk up to him as he is strung up and just beat him to a bloody pulp. Even then. this monster will not begin to go through the hell that he put these children through. These young boys should have nothing but joyful memories of their childhoods, but no this monster took those memories away from them.
I can't wait until this monster goes to prison. Once those inmates find out what this man has done to those children, then the real justice will begin. He find out what it will be like to have his "dignity" taken away from him. At least he will have the next 19 1/2 years to find out the pain that he put those innocent boys through.

Is Palin Selling Books Or Settling Scores
According to a news report released by CBS News, http://www.cbsnews.com/story/ Sarah Palin is on the campaign trail again. Not to secure votes this time, to sell books.
Her book, entitled "Going Rogue," has a million and a half copies already in print. The book recalls how Mrs. Palin was micromanaged by McCain staffers and that she was set up for "bad interviews" with Katie Couric. The book also makes mention of the bad relations with Levi Johnston, the father of her grandchild and her early departure from her governorship of Alaska.
When is all of this with Mrs. Palin going to stop. It seems that we've been hearing more about her now more than we ever did while she was running on the McCain ticket. It seems to me that she is no better that Levi Johnston. All she wants is lime light. She just wants to make sure that her "fame" will never go away.
Think about it. The McCain campaign for the most part was a successful one even though they didn't win the White House. Now she is coming out and saying that the McCain staffers deliberatly tried to set her up with bad interviews. Please, that is the most absurd thing that I have ever heard. Why would they want to damage their own campaign by "setting" her up on these bad interviews? In my opinion, maybe she should have been more prepared to answer the questions for the interviews. In my opinion, she was the one who made herself look bad during the interviews.
Get a life Sarah Palin and focus on your own life and failures like every other american.

Police Officer Resigns After Allegations He Had Sex While On Duty
According to a story released by Fox News http://www.foxnews.com/story Glendale Az. police officer Adam Fisher resigns his commission after allegations of having sex with a co-worker while on duty.
I guess allegation is too lenient of word. He actually confessed to officers conducting an internal investigation of the matter. The co-worker, identified as Shannon Godina, worked in police records was terminated upon the investigations findings.
According to the story the couple had been engaging in sexual encounters several times at the home of Ms. Godina while Mr. Fisher was supposedly on patrol. Mr. Fisher resigned his comission as soon as he found out that he was going to be fired.
Here again we have a fine example of two people who are incredibly stupid. First of all, I know from experience that becoming a police officer is not an easy task. Secondly doing something as stupid as having sex while on the job has got to be one of the most career ending incidents that a person could ever do. Mr. Fisher will never be able to be a police officer again. No department will ever pass his background inverstigation due to being fired for having intercourse while patrolling. He basically stole from the city. While he was supposed to be being paid to work, he decided along with his co-worker to have sex. What would he have done if an emergency call would have come out over the radio? In an emergency situation seconds can and will determine life and death. But instead of responding a potential emergency call from his patrol car, this man would first have to pull his pants up first, then put his gun belt back on, make sure that his uniform was being worn properly, and then maybe, he could respond to the call. In that time a person who might need the officers help could be dead.
This act by this officer, again, is the type of actions that give honest officers a bad name. With police corruption already out there in the world, police didn't need another reason for the public to look bad on law enforcement.
This man isn't deserving of being a police officer.

Indiana Principle on Leave After He Allegedly Drove Drunk While Wearing a Dress
According to a news release from Fox News, http://www.foxnews.com/story? an Idiana school principle was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Now what is so funny about this particular D.W.I arrest was that the suspect, Tracy Tredway (who is male) was wearing a wig, a pink dress, and yes even high heels. That's right ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Tredway is a cross dressing principle.
Since the arrest, Mr. Tredway has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. I wonder which investigation that the school is waiting for to be completed? The D.W.I., investigation or the investigation on Mr. Tredway's choice to wear dress and other types of women's clothing? Remains to be seen.
Now when I was a police officer I had the unfortunate task of arresting a cross dressing male during a traffic stop. He wasn't drunk, but did have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. I can still remember the humiliation my suspect felt when I took him over to be processed in the jail. I wonder if the principle feels the same shame?
There is a very serious side to all of this though. That's the fact that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. I would like to know exactly what makes a person think that driving drunk is an option. This man could have easily killed someone or even himself. What is so hard for someone to pick up a phone and call for a cab or a friend to come and take you home.
Now I wonder, was getting behind the wheel of your vehicle worth losing everything that you have worked for? To some people, it is!
Jeremy D. King 1974-2009
On November 8, 2009, I received the regrettable news of the passing of a very close friend and classmate. Jeremy D. King passed away suddenly while he was working at St. John's Regional Hospital here in Joplin, MO. He was 35 years old.
I had the honor and privilage in going to school with him and graduating with him from Carl Junction High School back in 1992. Since that time we had been able to maintain a very close relationship, talking or texting almost every single day. He was the kindest and most sincere person I had ever met, which made him my obvious choice to be my best man when I was married in 1996. When my marriage dissolved in 2007, he was there to help me through the difficult times. Not only was he just like a brother to me, but he was a fixture in my whole entire family as I am to his.
This loss has not only affected his family or myself and my family, but on our entire graduating class of 1992 as well. Once the news got out about Jeremy's death, our class immediatley got together, pitched in, and arranged for flowers to be delivered to Parker's Mortuary here in Joplin. All the extra money that was left over from the collection for the floral arrangement was donated to the Central City Christian Church (Jeremy's church) for their building fund in his name.
As I sit back and remince about the good and bad times that we shared, I have a sense of pride and loss all at the same time. The pride is for having one of the best friends that I will ever have. The loss, well that's self explanatory.
Today Jeremy's body was laid to rest at Union Cemetary in Galena, KS. This world has lost a true gentleman in every since of the word. I lost my best friend. The Carl Junction graduating class of 1992 lost a wonderful classmate. However, heaven gained one her angels.
Goodbye Jeremy, I will miss you!!!

Teens Charged As Adults In Burning of Another Teen
In a story released by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/florida-teens-adults-burned-boy-case/story? 3 out of 5 of the teenagers accused of burning another teen have been charged as adults.
According to the story the victim owed one of the defendants $40 for a video game. When the victim failed to pay the $40, 5 teenagers then took it upon themselves to light the victim on fire. According to reports 3 of the 5 teenagers will be charged with second degree attempted murder, a felony, and the other two teens that were involved in the attack will face a lesser charge of aggravated battery. The victim is still in very critical condition, with 65% of his body covered with burns.
What in God's name is happening with our youth? How can our children ever come up with the idea of committing a crime so severe? Where were the parents during all of this?
I have to really put a lot of emphasis on the last question. Has today's society become so economically straped that parents cannot or will not take the necessary time to make sure that their kids have a sense of what is right and what is wrong. I know that in today's world both parents have to work and I also realize that many homes in today's society are one parent families. Cry me a flippin river. Both of my parent's worked long hours and at one time my parents were actually seperated. But guess what, they still taught me and my younger brother the difference between right and wrong. Now I am not blaming the parents for the terrible act. There is no way that a parent can keep an eye on the children 24/7. However, if your kid has been taught right from wrong, then some of these crimes would not ever take place.
When I read this story I felt both sadness and outrage. I felt sadness for the victim who will be forever scarred both physically and emotionally. That is if the victim even lives. There is still a chance that the victim will not even survive. Then I felt outrage. These teens burned this kid over a $40 video game!!! A video game!!! I hope that with every fiber of my being these kids spend the rest of their lives in prison. That sentence in itself will not even be enough "hell" for the assailants. The victim, if he survives, will always be in his own private "hell." And for what? A $40 video game.

Hero Cop Stops Shooting Rampage
According to a report released by Fox News, http://www.foxnews.com/story Officer Kim Munley and her partner arrived at the scene of the Fort Hood shooting within 3 minutes after the they received the report of shots being fired.
Upon arrival at the base Officer Munley exchanged gunfire with one of the shooter leaving him in comatose state. Officer Munley is in stable condition recovering from her injuries she received during the gun battle. She continues to receive many messages from well wishers from all over the country.
As a fomer police officer I especially proud of this brave officer. So many times I often wondered if I would be able to respond the way that she did yesterday. Clearly her training took over in the situation and she handled it very well. I also give credit to the police academy that she attended for giving her the training that not only helped her stop the attack, but also kept her alive as well. In fact her whole department that she works for should be proud of her. She definately went above and beyond the call of duty yesterday.
Police officers like her are the reason that people are proud to be law enforcement officers. It is her dedication to duty that helped her stay alive and also saved the lives of many more that could have been killed. The public will never know how many lives she truly saved yesterday. Perhaps we will never know.
Officer Munley is my "Officer and Person of the year."

Orlando Office Shooter Jason Rodriguez Captured at Mom's House
According to a report released by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/shooting-downtown-orlando-office-building/story?id=9016169 Jason Rodriguez was apprehended at his mother's house just hours after the shooting. This attack follows just one day after the shootings at Fort Hood, TX. Jason Rodriguez was terminated from his job for performance issues.
Well, another story of someone who cannot handle being fired from a job. I know that times are tough and jobs are hard to come by, but that doesn't give a person the right to walk into his former employers office and begin shooting people.
What I'm afraid of the most after these two very horrible attacks is that now our government leaders will now try and eliminate the right the to bear arms from our bill of rights. I'm sure gun control activist and the National Rifle Association are already planning their next moves in all of this.
Do I feel sorry for the victims of these horrible atrocities? Absolutely, and I hope these criminals get exactly what is coming to them. I just fear that the somehow the government is going to step in and take our guns away from us. I feel that if guns are taken away from us then more and more attacks will occur not only from domestic attacks, but also from attacks from abroad.
The big question is what are we to do with all the guns that are in the private sector? Would the government be so bold as to walk into to your homes and demand that they see all of your guns? If they government was to try something like that, then that would open up a whole other can of worms and other constitutional violations. However, these type of attacks need to be prevented. To many innocent people are dying meaningless deaths.

12 Soldiers Killed and 31 Wounded in Fort Hood Shooting
According to a news release by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/soldiers-killed-fort-hood-shooting/story?id=9007938 12 soldier were killed and 31 more were wounded in a shooting spree at Fort Hood. The attacks took place at Soldiers Readiness Processing Center and at the Howze Theater located on the base. One of the gunman has been killed and the Army is searching for one maybe two more possible shooters.
This is of course another tragic shooting that is becoming increasingly more frequent all around our country. Here these brave men and women are preparing for all the perils that they are going to face in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now soldiers not only have to fear what they will face overseas, but now they have to face domestic threats on their own bases as well. With the increasing tight secruity all over our U.S. military bases the question has to raised on how the gunman even got the weapons onto the installation. Weapons that are on the base are always secured and all vehicles coming in and out of the bases are always subject to being searched. Not only were the soldiers at risk, but so were all the civilians that work and or reside on the base. During the attack all the schools on the base were locked down.
It is hard to speculate the reasoning for the attack. Some have theorized that the gunman(s) did not want to be redeployed overseas. Fort Hood is home of the First Cavalry Division and at date has lost more soldiers to the war that any other division.
When is the government going to wake up and take some of the responsibility for this. If the theory is proven true and the attacks were based on the gunman(s) fear of redeployment, then shouldn't the Army step up there efforts in dealing with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)? These soldiers who enlist and go and fight for our country should be givin absolutely every thing possible to help them deal with the stresses of military life.
Hopefully as the investigation continues, more details will be made public. Hopefully answers will be given to families of the killed and wounded.

Levi: I'm Hiding "Huge" Things About Palin
Here we go again. Another chapter in the Levi Johnston vs. Sarah Palin saga.
According to the story as aired on the CBS Early Show, http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/23/earlyshow Levi Johnston during the interview stated, "...I have things that can, you know-that would get her in trouble and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I'm not going to go that far. You know what I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could very easily. But there's-I'm not going to do it. I'm not going that far." Mr. Johnston was referring to these "things" that Palin allegedly done while she was the governor of Alaska.
Right! I don't believe it in a second. If he really had dirt on Palin, I do believe he would be the type to use it. Especially if he had proof. Next I really believe that he is definately just out there to get his "five minutes of fame." Of course both sides to this boring bickering has claimed that each are lying about the other. I think this was Mr. Johnston's way of promoting himself and his future endeavors. Especially his upcoming Playgirl spread.
At first when all this bickering between the Palin's and Levi started, I actually felt that the Palin's were just trying to weed Levi out of his son's life. Now after his appearence on the Early Show, I believe now that this is definately not the case.
I would like to pass along a little advise to Mr. Johnston, if you have the proof show it. Show that you are willing to stand up for what you believe. If you don't have the proof, wipe your nose and move on. This story line is getting very old.

Authorities Say Arrest Clears Up Several Burglaries
According to a press release http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/local/story_301014435.html by the Jasper County Sheriff"s Office, the arrest of Christopher Jennings has cleared up several burglaries.
Sheriff's Deputies executed a search warrant at the residence of Mr. Jennings, 1856 Dogwood in Joplin, MO. Various items that were believed to be stolen items were recovered at the residence. Some of the items included, cell phones, tools, guns, compact discs, just to name a few. Mr. Jennings is being held at the Jasper County Jail on a $7500 bond. He is suspected in 6 burglaries of homes and 7 thefts from vehicles. He has been charged with First Degree Burglary and more charges are pending.
Now the reason that I wrote about a story so close to home instead of a national news story is because this incident effected me and my family. Mr. Jennings broke into my vehicle and my daughter's vehicle on the night of October 1. Stolen out of my vehicle was all my cd's, my mp3 player, my wallet that contained all my personal information, credit cards, bank cards, $80 in cash, etc., and an extra set of truck keys that were left in the vehicle. Out of my daughter's vehicle he stole her wallet with $50 cash, all her personal information, digital camera, and an extra set of car keys. Mr. Jennings struck our residence again during the weekend of October 24. This time Mr. Jennings stole my daughter's purse and this time he broke into an stole many items from my daughter's boyfriend.
However this story does have an happy ending. Yesterday, October 27, the sheriff's office called an notified that some of her items had been recovered. She then called me and I picked her up and drove her to the sheriff's office. Her boyfriend was also notified and he met us at the sheriff's office. My daughter and her boyfriend were able to recover all their belongings except for the cash that they lost. I also recovered everything except my mp3 player and wallet.
Mr. Jennings will get his day in court. I remember once upon a time when you were able to trust the people that live in your neighborhood. Thanks to Mr. Jennings now everyone in the sub division will be looking over their shoulders. Thanks to Mr. Jennings anyone who moves into the Hickory Hills subdivision will be subjected to suspicion. Thanks to Mr. Jennings people were unable to rest peacefully at night. Well your spree has ended Mr. Jennings.

No One Called Cops During Gang Rape, But Some Took Pictures
According to a news release by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/high-school-gang-rape-stuns-california-community/story?id a 15 year old high school girl was brutally beaten and ganged raped over a 2 1/2 hour period.
According to police reports, the 15 year old girl was leaving a high school dance when the attack took place. As many as 20 high school students either participated or witness the attack including pictures taken with cell phones. Once the dance was over and the security sweep of the school was completed, everyone left. An anonomous call to the police led them to find the girl semi-conscience and curled up in a ball. At this point only two arrest have been made with more to follow.
My heart and prayers go out to this 15 year old girl. I am deeply saddend that she had to be viciously attacked like this and basically left for dead. What even worse is the fact that her own classmates just left her, like she was nothing more that a piece of garbage. This young woman will be never be able to put this incident behind her no matter how much counseling she undergoes.
Next I want to know why no one did anything to stop the attack. 20 people witnesses the assualt but did nothing. How in the hell (pardon the language) does anyone just set there and watch this attack take place and do nothing? Oh, wait, I forgot, some of the witnesses did do something. They took pictures with there cell phones. One would ask if there was any security at the dance? The answer to that question is yes. As many as 4 cops, 5 chaperones, and a host of teachers were all present at the dance. Where were they when this girl needed them? Well according to school spokesman Trujillo, "after the dance is over, we don't take them home."
I turly hope that all these animals that were participants in the assualt will spend the rest of there lives in jail. I also hope these animals will get to experience their own gang rape in the shower once they are in prison. The animals will not ever be able to pay the debt that society needs in defense of the girl. As for the people who stood by and watched and didn't do anything, I hope that you all can sleep well. I hope that girl's screams don't keep you up at night.

A League of Their Own: Lingerie Football
Here it sports fans. Another football that is destined to win the hearts and minds of all the male football fans out there. Lingerie Football League. That's right. No typos or made up stories here.
According to a press release by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/Lingerie-football-league-models-college-student-field-/story?id=8495628 the Lingerie Football League is in full swing. A lingerie football game was a payper view event several years ago as an alternative to the regular Super Bowl halftime show. Several games since, a regular league has been funded and the league began it's debut season this past September. So far the league has 10 national teams, with the Dallas Desire, Los Angelas Temptation, and San Diego Seduction to name a few. This is 7 on 7 full contact football, with the players wearing helmets and shoulder pads, and of course lingerie. Many of the players are models who are attending college, but a few others due have full time careers.
When I think that I have seen it all in the sports world, here comes another curve ball that is thrown at me. At least these games are all payper view events and won't be shown on national television.
However I am quite sure that this league will fair much better than most of the other football leagues that have came and went. For instance the failed existance of the USFL back in the early '80's, and let's not forget about the failed dream of WWE owner Vince McMahon's XFL that didn't even last a full season.
Now will I pay to watch this type of football? No, absolutely not. I am a true football fan that loves the game for what it truly is. I love the competitiveness and pagentry of the game. I'm sure it would be fun to watch, but just not interested.

Now will I pay to watch this type of football? No, absolutely not. I am a true football fan that loves the game for what it truly is. I love the competitiveness and pagentry of the game. I'm sure it would be fun to watch, but just not interested.

Former NYC Police Comisioner Sent to Jail
According to a story released by ABC News, http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/nyc-top-cop-bernard-kerik-remanded-jail-eve/story?id=8873277 former NYC Police Comissioner was remanded to jail after the judge revoked his $500,000 bond. Former Comissioner Bernard Kerik is facing charges of receiving free rent and apartment renovations, tax evasion, and lying on his application to become the new Head of Homeland Security.
I cannot not believe that the comissioner of the oldest organized police force in the history of the United States is a criminal. One would think that even though he was NYC's top cop that he would eventually get caught. I mean really, did he think that he was untouchable. Apparently he did. Accepting free rent and appartment renovations is one thing. However tax evasion and lying on a federal job application is totally something else. All I can say is, on behalf of all law enforcement officers, thank you for giving law enforcement another black eye in the eye's of the general public. Thank you, Bernard, for giving the people another reason not to trust police.
Then there's this, "let' lie to federal investigators who will be conducting my background investigation for the Homeland Security job." Was he just not thinking that they wouldn't find out. HELLO!!!!!!!! They're the Feds. They find out everything. You might have at one time had President Bush in your corner, especially after 9/11, but come on, they will still conduct a full background inveerstigation before they just hand a job over to anyone. As for tax evasion, your just plain dumb not to pay your taxes. Again the IRS is a federal department, so again they will find you out.
Out of all the dumb criminals that I have written about, Bernard Kerik is by far the dumbest. His law enforcement career was on the fast track, and what does he do? He takes advantage of it and thinks no one can touch him. I hope he gets the max sentence for everything he has been accused of. Mostly because he gave law enforcement another stain on the badge.

Exotic Dancer Gets Probation in Stilleto Heel Attack on Co-worker
A 22 year old exotic dancer was placed on probation for 1 year after she was convicted of assualting a co-worker with her stilleto heel.
According to a story released by Fox News,http://www.foxnews.com./story/0,2933,565883,00.html Chetania Davis was involved in an fight inside of the strip club with a fellow dancer. She then took her stilleto heels and struck the victim in the face several times causing the victim to get staples in her face to repair the damage. According to her defense attorney, Ms. Davis could have been charged with felony assualt but agreed to the plea agreement so she could get on with her life. In the plea aggreement reached with the prosecutors office, Ms. Davis received a sentence of 1 year probation with 6 months jail time suspended. The details of the incident were not released.
I wonder what could have been so bad that the two dancers had to fight. Especially a fight so bad that a stilleto had to be the weapon of choice. Was the dollar bills not flowing very well that night? Who knows, but has workplace violence now reached an all time low? Or could have the dancers been jealous of each other? One could ask numerous questions about what happened that night at the club.
Now let's face it, it's not like you have to have a degree in the arts to be an exotic dancer. I am also pretty sure the opprotunities for advancement are not available. All you have to do is take your clothes off, dance, and ask for tips. Really, how hard is that. Plus it's not like the work environment itself is the best in the world. I mean you take your clothes off for strangers, for money, for God's sake. I have always felt that those types of establishments are nothing but trouble. There is just so much that can and does happen in those places that, in my opinion, they are just not safe for anyone involved. In fact there was a time that the safety of the girls from the patrons was a concerned, now you have to worry about workplace violence between co-workers. Please. Go out and get a real job.

Fugitive Arrested After Adding Former Justice Department Offical to Friends List on Facebook
Here's another funny story on how criminals are very dumb. According to a story released by MSNBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33301490/ns/technology_and_science_tech_and_gadgets/ Maxi Sapo was arrested by mexican authorites after he placed a former Justice Department official on his friends list on his Facebook page. Mr. Sapo is facing bank fraud charges after he and an accomplice allegedly committed bank fraud from several Seatle area banks and credit unions totally $200,000. After Mr. Sapo realized he was being investigated for the crimes he then fled to Mexico. Mr. Sapo is currently being held in mexican custody awaiting extradition back to the United States.
Authorities working the case say they frequently scan Myspace and Facebook looking for fugitives. Although Sapo's page was listed as private, authorities discovered that his friends list was not and that's how they discovered one of his friends was a former Justice Depatement official. The authorities contacted the former official and that's how they caught up with Mr. Sapo.
This is another fine example of why criminals are just plain dumb. Here was a ciminal who defrauded the banks for all of this money and then he goes on Facebook and brags how he is living the life of luxury, living on the beach and partying all the time at all the Cancun nightclubs. One would think he would have just remained anonymous. Lucky for U.S. authorities he was stupid. I just hope that Mr. Sapo got all his partying out of his system. Now he will get to face his charges and spend the next 30 years in a federal prison.
It just seems that these criminals work a lot harder to commit these crimes rather than just getting a real job and earning an honest living.

Missouri Sets Standards for Juvenile Justice
According a story released by ABC News Primetime, the State of Missouri is setting a nation wide standard of the way juvenile jails should be operated. http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/Missouri-sets-standard-juvenile-detention/Story?
Missouri is showing great success in how their "juvenile jails are operated." According to the story, about 10% of the children who have went through Missouri's "system" have went on to serve sentences in adult prisons. That's considerably lower than the national average of 40% of children who move on to the adult prisons.
Missoouri attributes some of their success to the way the kids are treated. In Missouri's system, the kids are not housed behind bars with constant guard. Instead the kids live in colorfully painted dorms with posters with postive messages on the walls. Also the kids are in intensive group and individual therepy. According to state officials, once the children arrive at the residential facilities, they are immediatley shown that facility are a place that they can feel safe. The kids are also given something that many of them have never received before. That something is a hug. For some kids this is the first time these kids have been shown this kind of positive affection.
After reading this story I felt Missouri is doing a great job with these kids. These kids who don't have the parents that care enough about them to take care of them or to show them the difference between right and wrong now have a positive source to guide them into the future. The sad thing is it has to be the State of Missouri that has to be the parent to these kids instead of the biological parents. However, at least these kids have a positive source to get the help that they desperately need.

Thong-Wearing Florida Biker Agrees to Cover Up in Future
In a story released by Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/story) 55 year old Richard Irby has agreed to not wear his thong while riding his bike in his residential area.
Mr. Irby was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct when residents in the trailer park that he resides in complained about his thong wearing. Residents claim that while Mr. Irby was wearing his thong his genitals wear exposed. Since the agreement, Mr. Irby has told the Tallahassee Democrat that he now wears a pair of bicycle shorts that covers passed his knees.
While reading this story all I could was laugh. I mean a 55 year old man wearing a thong. How gross is that? How could a man, any man, feel comfortable in wearing a thong, let alone ride a bike while wearing one? Our culture today is definately different than it was several years ago. He's lucky that he wasn't charged with some kind of sex crime that would have put him on the sex offender list. The residents of the trailer park had to be horrified when they seen him ride his bike. I know as a parent I would have been outraged. I wouldn't want my children to have see that display. I believe in comfort, but come on give me a break. There's a difference in being comfortable in exercising, than being disgusting while you do it. I'm certainly am glad that the residents complained.
I wonder what went through the judges mind when this case appeared in his court. For that matter, I wonder what went through the mind of the responding officer. I know in the police departments that I worked for all of the officers who would have been working that night would have responded just for the laugh. The jokes about this case would be told every day at the police department with no end in sight.
I guess it's true what they say, anything can happen in America.

Father of Sarah Palin's Grandson to Pose Nude
Get ready ladies, 19 year old Levi Johnston, the father of Vice Presidential canidate of Sarah Palin's grandson, is in the works of a deal with Playgirl to pose nude.
According to the story released by MSNBC (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33217038/ns/entertainment-celebrities) the 19 year old has been working out 6 days a week in preperation of his up coming shoot. According to Mr. Johnston's attorney, Rex Butler, the deal is not completed but it is a foregone conclusion that it will happen.
We all know that Mr. Johnston's rise to fame occured during the last presidential race when Palin made public the pregnancy of her unwed teenage daughter. Since that time we also know of the stained ties between the Palin's and the Johnston's. Mostly because of visitation of the child.
Now, I wonder if he is just doing this shoot to back at the Palin's. He has already done television commercials, so why now does he feel he has to the do the Playgirl shoot? I mean really, does he need this kind of exposure to further his acting career? Who knows.
I have to wonder how the Palin's are reacting to all of this. I feel this occurance has to have a negative effect on Sarah Palin's future political career. She is, after all, being talked about as a potential presidential candidate in the next presidential election. If it is his way of getting back at the Palin's, then I say, go for it. The Palin's in my opinion have treated Levi very terribly since the birth of his son. They have done every thing in their power to keep his son away from him. Besides this is a free country and I feel he has every right to do whatever he wants. It's going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out in the end. If this some how embarrasses the Palin's, in this writer's opinion, oh well. I'm sure it won't be the last time the family has been embarrassed. After all Mrs. Palin did abuse her power as the Governor of Alaska when she tried to get her ex brother-in-law fired from his state trooper post for divorcing her sister. Not to mention she had a pregnant teenage daughter.
Go for it Levi.

8 Year Anniversary in Afghan War
Today marked the 8 year anniversary for the war in Afghanistan. How do you celebrate this momentous occasion? Well if you are General Stanley McChrystal, you ask the government to send 40,000 more troops.
According to the ABC News story (http//abcnews.com.go/GMA/Afghanistan/afghanistan-war-anniversary-find-strategy/story) that's exactly what he did.
Now, I'm not being critical of the general's request. In fact I believe whole-heartedly that the U.S. Administration should do every thing possible to win. However since the the attacks on 9/11, the U.S. forces did in fact run the Taliban completely out of Afghanistan. When U.S. attention was turned to Iraq, the Taliban has now came back in the country and the insurgent attacks have increased. The number of U.S. causulties have also increased with 8 soldiers killed over this past weekend.
But, is the increased number of troops the real answer to this. Remember the Russians in the early '80's couldn't defeat the Afghans. We also did the same thing in Vietnam in the '60's. Increased troops didn't help either nation in either conflict.
Do I have the answer for what needs to be done in Afghanistan, no I don't. However, I do feel that the increased number of troops is just a quick fix and not a solution. The Obama Administration needs to do what is right by these troops and give them what ever is needed to win. This country also needs to get behind these troops and continue to give them the support they truly need. We also need to finally get the exit strategy in place and bring these brave men and women home safely to their families.

Man Who Stole, Ate Hot Dog Gets 18 Months in Prison
In a story released by Fox News, (http://foxnews.com/story), a Massachusettes man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing and eating a hot dog.
According to the victim, the assailant (Mr. Judd), approached him while he was sitting in the park eating a hot dog. Mr. Judd threatend the victim with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the hot dog. The victim then states he handed the hot dog over to Mr. Judd. Mr. Judd then proceeded to eat the hot dog right there in front of the victim even spilling mustard on his shirt.
Mr. Judd was later picked up by police where he was in possession of a pellet gun and a knife. This also was not Mr. Judd's first offense. He had numerous other arrest for the same type of crime.
Again, here we go with another stupid criminal. All he stole was hot dog, stood there in front of the victim, and ate it. This world has definately gone to the dogs (no pun intended). I know the economy is bad, but come on. It's not worth going to jail over a hot dog.
After reading this story I actually felt kinda sorry for the Judd individual. Here he feels that he has nothing to give to society and his only way for survival is to commit a crime so he can go to jail. What's even worse is Mr. Judd does not even have any type of mental condition or handicap. I believe Mr. Judd feels he can't make it in this world. I guess he believes the "three hots and a cot" is better than his current living arrangement. Maybe he's just lazy and doesn't want to work and earn a living. Maybe he feels at home in a prison environment. Who really knows. What's worse, is that in today's society, who really cares?

Detroit Police Chief Has to Ignore Some Crimes
In a recent story by ABC News (http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/Politics/detroit-police-chief-warren-evans-battles-crime/) Detroit Police Chief Warren Evans has his work cut out for him.
According to the story, Chief Evans was on patrol when he notice a white mini-van run thru a red light. The Chief intiated the traffic stop for the traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver, Chief Evans was told by the operator of the vehicle that he did not have drivers license. Chief Evans just simply told the driver to just "drive more carefully." Chief Evans told ABC News, "that was a legitimate arrest, but that arrest would have put an officer out of service for nearly an hour and a half."
In a city that boasts the most homicides per year, 375 and counting and more than a 1,000 shootings, Chief Warren's embattled department has to pick and choose what laws to enforce. Chief Warren also states that his departments in car camera's and computer don't even work in many of his departments squad cars and there are not enough beds in his city's jail. In a quote, "my department is the most underpaid and underappreciated police department in the country." Detroit P.D. also has the highest suicide rate among it's officers than any other police department in the country.
I really feel for Chief Evans and his embattled officers. I know first hand what's it's like to work in a under budgeted police department. And that was in a city that was no where near the size of Detroit. It's sad that Detroit police officers have to use their discretion in this manner. It's one thing to use officer discretion when it comes to a speeding ticket, it becomes more serious when it comes down to putting criminals in jail.

Teens Charged With Murder
In a story, "Three Teens Charged In Beating Death Of 16 Year Old Student" (http://abcnews.go.com/US/police-arrest-teens-chicago-student-beating-death/), three teens were charged with First Degree Murder in the beating death of 16 year old honor student, Derrion Albert.
According to the story, Derrion, was walking home from school when he was caught in the middle of a fight between two rival gangs in Chicago. Derrion was struck in the head with a 2 x 4 and when he tried to get up, he was jumped on and kicked and stomped until he no longer moved. The three teens range in ages of 16 to 19 years old.
When, on this earth, is this sensless violence going to stop? According to statistics released in the story 34 kids have lost their lives in the midst of the violence. And for what? Fighting over a block. A block, which last I knew belonged to the city and not these "thugs." I know gang violence has been around for many, many years, but come on. When is enough, enough? Children are dying sensless deaths and it seems like no one is doing anything about it. People blame the "gang" culture on society. That these kids have no where else to go and no future ahead of them. I say, that's all B******t. I have always been taught the future is what you make of it. Get off your ass and make something of yourself. Life doesn't just hand everything over to you. You have to go out and get it. Derrion had everything going for him in his short life. He was an honor student who was working hard and was wanting to make something of himself. But instead he had three misguided "thugs" who took it upon themselves to make sure Derrion never got to see his efforts pay off. I hope these three individuals get exactly what they have coming to them. Derrion didn't get a chance, why should they? To make matters worse, the memorial that was put in place where Derrion was killed was burned over the weekend.
I don't have an answer for the gang issue. I wish that I did. I wish the law makers would find a solution before more kids like Derrion end up dead. My sincerest condolences goes out the family of Derrion Albert.

Co Workers Discover They're Long Lost Brothers
Another feel good story. (http://www.abcnews.go.com/us/wirestory) Brothers Gary Nisbet and Randy Joubert have been working together at Dow's Sleep Center for several years and didn't know they were brothers.
The boys apparently were givin up for adoption as babies. The two boys also went to rival high schools and at one time actually lived in the same neighborhood. The curiosity really got stirred up when customers would as the two men if they were brothers. The two men looked so much alike that customers would question the two men. They both were glasses, have the same goatee, and even curl the brims of their hats the same. After the two started working together, Randy Joubert even mentioned to his fiance that he resembled his co worker. Well one thing led to another and the discovery was made. Since the story broke, the brothers have also discovered that they have a sister.
Just imagine the feeling that these people felt when they discovered they were family. I really shows people this really is a small world. I am so happy for this family to be reunited. Just think of the holidays that these people will get to share with each other. Exciting, in my opinion, is not the right word that can best describe what these people are feeling.
Congrats to this newly formed family. Good luck to all who are out there looking to find lost siblings or parents. This family should serve as inspiration and hope that finding lost family memebers is possible.

Plaxico Sentenced
Former New York Giants wide receiver, Plaxico Buress, was sentenced to two years in prison for carrying a loaded, unregistered weapon into a Manhattan night club.
The former Giants star plead guilty on Aug. 20 to two counts of weapons possession and one count of reckless endangerment. Mr. Buress could have faced 3.5 years in prison if he would have went to trial. According to sources close to the case, Mr. Buress could be out in 20 months with good behavior.
Now, when are these NFL players going to realize that they ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. You would think that in light of the Michael Vick conviction that these players would stop believing that they're above the law. Not to mention all the kids out there that look up to these players as role models. Hats of to the State of New York for giving what Plaxico had coming to him. Of course it's funny how Plaxico got caught. He shot himself in the thigh with his own weapon!!!!!!!! How moronic can a person be? Give me a break. He should have gotten at least a year in jail for sheer stupidity.
Another question that keeps popping into my head is, why was the gun unregistered? One would assume that Mr. Buress had enough money to have a legal handgun? I know guns are expensive, but I have owned several Glock pistols and even I was able to make sure they were registered legally. Please, we all know that it was his way of saying, "I'm a pro athlete, screw what the law says!" Well Mr. Buress I guess you got what was coming to you.

Classiest Play in Sports
While deciding which articles that I was going to blog on this week in came across an article that just pulled at my heart strings. It was, in my opinion, the most classiest play that two high school football coaches could have ever called.
In the story, "Rivals Give Last Touchdown To Player With Down Syndrome," (http://www.parentdish.com/2009/21/rivals-give-last-touchdown-to-player-with-down-syndrome) the St. Joe Benton Cardinals were playing their arch rivals the Maryville Spoofhounds last friday night. During the course of the game the Spoofhounds were beating the Cardinals by the score of 46-0. With time running out the Cardinal Coach approached the Spoofhound coach and asked him for a "favor." That favor was to let a freshman running back from St. Joe Benton to score a touchdown. The running back, by the name of Matt Ziesal, has down syndrome and always begged for some game action. Here's the really classy part of the whole story. The Maryville coached could have easily said no and preserve the shut out victory for his team. The coach of the Maryville Spoofhounds agreed and told his defense not to tackle the kid and let him score.
I have watched the video of the 60 yard touchdown run many times now. Every time that I watch it I can't help but to think of how happy Matt had to of been when he crossed the goal line. I've volunteered many times at Special Olympic Events and the smiles these athletes show after they complete their events are bigger than anyting in this entire world. My heart always melted every time I had the honor of volunteering at these events.
I believe at the end of the year both of these coaches should be given the "Coach of the Year" award and in my opinion "Human of the Year" award too! Both these coaches showed what it is to be true sportsman and they both showed great compassion in letting a child with a handicap score a touchdown.
After reading this story I showed it to my own son and let him read it. My son is a great athlete in his own right, but sometimes doesn't put forth the extra effort when he practices. After he read it he turned to me and before he could say anything to me I seen a different look in his eyes. A look of determination and desire that I haven't seen in his eyes for a very long time. Then he broke down and told me that he will work much harder and not take his gifts for granted anymore. He told me Matt Ziesal should be an inspiration for all athletes and he would work harder in practice in honor of him.
God Bless both of the coaches for their compassion. And I wish both teams good luck and good fortune for the rest of their seasons. Hats off to the St. Joe Benton Cardinals and the Maryville Spoofhounds.

Assistant Principle Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison for Molesting Girls
A former assistant principle in the Los Angeles school system has been sentenced to serve 8 years in prison and pay $5000 in restitution and fines for molesting 4 girls in two different schools. (http://www.foxnews.com.story)
To me, I believe the sentence is too light. Here he was supposed to be someone that kids could look up to as role model and authority figure and what does he do? He used his power to do unspeakable and horrible things to these girls. I cannot imagine the horror of what these girls had to endure. How can anyone ever think of doing such things to our children? Children are our future and they deserve to have their childhood? Children deserve to maintain their innocence? I congratulate these girls for coming forward and reporting this "monster." The hell that he will receive in prison will not be enough. Nothing that the other inmates will do to him will ever be able to give back the innocence that these poor girls have lost.
I believe that our legislators should enact the death penalty to these offenders. The children who are sexually abused will live with the abuse for the rest of their lives. Even with all the counseling in the world these children will be scarred for life. So in turn I believe the offenders should have their lives taken from them.
Who knows if it were only just the four girls that he molested? I mean, only four girls came forward. Whose to say if there were more girls that didn't have the courage like these four girls did. This monster was in a position of power. These girls probably felt as if they didn't have a choice than to let the principle do what he wanted to do to them. Hopefully more girls, if there are any more victims, will come forward and make sure that this monster will never ever leave the confines of the prison system.

Patrick Swayze: Dead at 57 (pt. 2)
(this is a continuation of the previous blog. The blog was posted incomplete by accident)
You would think that all the millions of dollars that is raised and that goes into cancer research, that a cure could be found. Why do millions of people have to die so horribly? Cancer doesn't care who it strike either. It (cancer) is a merciless killer. Now, I do realize that some people do things to themselves, like smoking, that causes them to be diagnosed with lung cancer. But what about the people who do take good/great care of themselves? Cancer doesn't care.

Patrick Swayze: Dead at 57
Actor and dancer Patrick Swayze has lost his 20 month long battle with pancreatic cancer. (http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/patrick-swayze-dies-pancreatic-cancer/story)
Patrick Swayze who was best known for his roles in such films as, "Dirty Dancing," "Ghost," and "Roadhouse," was 57 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa.
Patrick Swayze was always known to be the kind of actor that took his work very seriously as he always insisted on doing his own stunts. Jennifer Gray, his costar in the movie "Dirty Dancing" and "Red Dawn" recalled many of the takes in the cold lake of the lift scene in "Dirty Dancing."
Mr. Swayze lived llife to the fullest. To me I believe Mr. Swayze showed tremendous courage throughout his batttle with cancer. I have seen first hand what cancer can and will do to the human body. It is a very horrible way to die. Your body just seems to melt away, all the way down to bone.

Apology, accepted!
In latest in the Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West battle, it looks like Mr. West was the loser. In fact in this writer's unbiased opinion, he is a big loser.
According to the story, "Kanye Apologizes"(http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainmnet/FallConcert/taylor-swift-talks-kanye-west-vmas-view/story) Mr. West finally apologized to Taylor Swift. Now I'm sure everyone has seen or has heard about the events that took place at this years VMA's. After winning the "Best Female Video" award, Talor Swift's acceptance speech was rudely and coldly interuppted by Rapper Kanye West. Mr. West climbed up on stage and grabbed a microphone and stated, "Beyonce Knowles had the best video of all time."
Now I realize that everyone in this great country of our's is entitled to their First Amendment Right to Free Speech. However I feel that no one has the right to humilate another person on national t.v. So what, Mr. West if you feel that Beyonce should have won. You had no right to humiliate Taylor Swift like that. Seriously, how would he have felt if the situation was reversed and someone else came up on stage and said, "50 cent should've won!" I guarantee he would have been very upset.
With that being said Ms. Swift was on the show "The View" and was asked if Mr. West had apologized to her. At the time she stated she had not spoken to Mr. West. Shortly after those words were spoken, Taylor Swift finally got her well deserved apology. She even said the she felt the apology was sincere.
Then I got to thinking. Was this incident all just a way to boost ratings? I just seems awefully convienient the apology took place after Taylor Swift was on "The View." I'm hoping that this isn't the case. I truly hope that networks aren't reaching that far out for ratings.
If the incident was real and not staged then Kanye West deserves all the negative attention that he is receiving. If it was all fake and just a way for the networks to boost ratings, then all parties involved should feel very ashamed of themselves.
Anyway I would like to thank Taylor Swift for the maturity she displayed during the incident and the maturity for how she handled it since. Good for her for keeping a level head.

And the Oscar for the Biggest Idiot Goes Too!!
The "Oscar" for the biggest idiot in the entire world goes to......Mr. Stephron Bennett, 20, from Columbus, Ohio.
Now you may be wondering why I'm going to give Mr. Bennett such a prestigious award. According to the story, "Police: Robber Returned, Asked for a Date," (http:/www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32751751/ns/us_news-weird_news/) Mr. Bennett along with two other males allegedly robbed the house with the homeowner inside. The three males manage to get away, however Mr. Bennett decided he liked the victim so much that he felt compelled to return to the house two hours later and ask the victim out on a date. Bingo, idiot of the year.
According to the victim, Mr. Bennett was immediately recognized and while she was speaking to him she had family members call 911. Mr. Bennett was then arrested in front of the home of the victim and is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail. I wonder if the people that he commited the crimes with are now thinking if Mr. Bennett is going to turn their names over to the authorities as well.
All I can think about while I was reading this was, the victim had to be "hot." Not just attractive, but out of this world gorgeous. Now I know what some of the women out there that is going to read this are going to say, "typical man." But wait a second ladies. Don't cast judgement just yet. For a man to commit such a horrible crime, to violate her sanctuary, and then return to the scene of the crime, the woman has to "smoking hot."
I do feel very sorry for the victim. I also feel tremendous admiration for the victim as well since she showed tremendous courage in speaking with the robber and having the sense to have another family memeber call 911. I also hope and pray that the offender gets what he deserves from our justice system. Please believe me when you reader's out there read this. I was not making fun of the crime. I was making fun of the fact that 99% of all criminals are STUPID.
I hope and pray that the victim of this crime will be able to move on with her life and try to put all this behind her.

Times Have Definatley Changed
Here it is ladies and gentlemen, times have definately changed. According to foxnews.com (http://www.news.com.au/story/) a recent study had found that 84% of today's women are having sex mostly to cure boredom.
I'm not kidding around here folks. The story also states that many women are also having sex to ensure that they received gifts.
It definately seems to me that times have changed. Whatever happened to the "men" being the dogs? According to the study many women stated that they have had sex with men other than there boyfriends. Some of the reasons ranged from being bored, to receving gifts, and, get this, because they felt sorry for the man. None of the women suggested that they had sex because they were in love with the person with whom they were having sex with. Some women even stated in the study that they would have sex with their partners just so their partner would take out the trash. Give me a break. Is sex really that powerful of a tool? Or have women finally decided to use it as a tool?
Now I understand that this story doesn't appy to all women. I do know that there still are a huge number of women out there who does think that love should have an intrigual part in who they choose to have sex with. Better yet, does being in love with someone matter in more when it comes to having sex with someone? Does this mean that we, as a society, can now throw away the terms "whore" and "slut"? And if so, what about "man whore"? It would need to disappear to, right? Has sex become so mainstream now that it is just considered an activity? Maybe one day those questions can be answered.
While reading this story I couldnt help but to laugh to myself. Whatever happened to the men being the dogs and only after "one thing" when going out with a girl? I sounds like to me that some women have now taken over the label of being "the dog." Are men now going to be the ones who sit by the phone and wait for the girl to call him back after a night of "pleasure"? That still remains to be seen. Times have definaltely changed.

Obama's Health Care Reform
Here we go again with the health care reform issue that continues to plague the U.S.
According to ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/politics/obama-health-care-reform-push-congress/story) President Obama is still trying to push through his health care plan. According to staff aides, President Obama still hasnt laid out any of the specifics of what he wants in the bill or how it would even help out americans.
Now I do realize that the rising cost of health is staggering, almost suffocating to the average american. But instead of pushing for a centralized health care plan, would it be more cost effective to go after the insurance companies and hospitals who are responsible for the cost of health care. It seem like every other day a story comes out that insurances companies are raising their insurance rates. Moreover most employers are having to either raise the cost of insurance coverage for their employees or cutting benefit packages out all together.
We live in the best country in the entire world with lots of freedoms and choices. With that why does the United States rank in the middle when it comes to health care. I find it very appalling that some of the world's underdeveloped nations have, dare I say, better health care at a far cheaper cost to the patient. Has the money driven society that we now live in necessarilly need to factor in when it comes to treating patients? I think not. I mean whatever happened to the Hypocratic Oath that doctors swear to.
I believe that once the hospitals and insurance companies get their "hands tied" I believe that health care reform could work. Until then the average american will not be able to go to the hospital.

I believe that once the hospitals and insurance companies get their "hands tied" I believe that health care reform could work. Until then the average american will not be able to go to the hospital.
Texting While Driving
In the story Cops, Lawmakers Send Message: Dnt Txt & Drive, (http://www.msnbc.com/technology_and_science-tech_and_gadgets) a twenty-five year old male drove his tow truck that he was operating into a swimming pool after hitting another vehicle. Why? Because he was talking on one cell phone and texting on another.
After the incident the driver of the tow truck was charged with reckless driving, following too closely, and talking on a cell phone while driving. That's right only talking on a cell phone. The State of New York currently only has a ban on talking on your cell phone while operating a vehicle. But just like many other states, New York is in the process of creating a ban on texting on a cell phone while driving.
Now being a former law enforcement officer I only investigated two traffic accidents that involved the driver texting on his cell phone while driving the vehicle. However with the texting craze becoming ever incresingly popular, I'm sure that the number of accidents have risen over the past few years.
Now I'm not saying that texting while driving is all bad. Lord knows I'm just as guilty as the next the person when it comes to texting while behind the wheel of a car. However I do believe that texting while driving does distract you while you are driving. There have been many occassions where I have almost rearended a vehicle in front of me because I wasnt paying attention due to my texting. In fact there also have been numerous times that I have almost been hit by another driver who was also texting.
Currently I am unaware of any law in Missouri that bans texting while driving. Would I agree with the law if it were to become enacted? Sure, but would the law have the same effect on the general public as the seat belt law does? Would people put down their phones while they were operating their vehicle? Who knows that would remain to be seen.

Where are the Parents?
When are the parents going to start being parents and be more involved with their childrens lives. In the story, "Lonely Sophomore Kills Best Friend, Blames Crime on Cult", (http://abcnews.go.com./primetime) a Colorado sophomore student kills his best friend and his best friends grandparents. Reason for the crime; the sophomore student was "brainwashed", in a cult setting, to do anothers bidding.
Now we have all read similar stories about this very topic. Even as far back as the tragedy of the Columbine High School shooting in Colorado. Both of these stories have one very close characteristic. Both tragedies involved teenage kids that felt they belong.
I know that all kids are different. Especially teenage kids. I also realize that all kids want that feeling of belonging. My question is to the parents of the offenders, where were you? Now what I mean from that question is, if you are a parent that is active in your child's life, then why didn't you take a more active role in your child's life? Another question, if you felt like your child was a loner, then why didn't you take a more active approach to get your child involved in some sort of activity that would have provided your child with a sense of belonging?
As a parent myself I take a very active role in my child's life. Now do I believe that he does things behind my back that I'm not aware of, of course I do I'm not naive. However since he was very young I had him involved in various sports, he was even a cub scout, and he is involved in clubs at school. Bottom line is my child created friends by participating in these various activities. He was able to create his own sense of belonging and acceptance.
Now I'm not saying these tragedies in Colorado are not the fault of the parents. However if the parents were more involved with their children, could have theses tragedies have been prevented?
