Apology, accepted!

In latest in the Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West battle, it looks like Mr. West was the loser. In fact in this writer's unbiased opinion, he is a big loser.

According to the story, "Kanye Apologizes"(http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainmnet/FallConcert/taylor-swift-talks-kanye-west-vmas-view/story) Mr. West finally apologized to Taylor Swift. Now I'm sure everyone has seen or has heard about the events that took place at this years VMA's. After winning the "Best Female Video" award, Talor Swift's acceptance speech was rudely and coldly interuppted by Rapper Kanye West. Mr. West climbed up on stage and grabbed a microphone and stated, "Beyonce Knowles had the best video of all time."

Now I realize that everyone in this great country of our's is entitled to their First Amendment Right to Free Speech. However I feel that no one has the right to humilate another person on national t.v. So what, Mr. West if you feel that Beyonce should have won. You had no right to humiliate Taylor Swift like that. Seriously, how would he have felt if the situation was reversed and someone else came up on stage and said, "50 cent should've won!" I guarantee he would have been very upset.

With that being said Ms. Swift was on the show "The View" and was asked if Mr. West had apologized to her. At the time she stated she had not spoken to Mr. West. Shortly after those words were spoken, Taylor Swift finally got her well deserved apology. She even said the she felt the apology was sincere.

Then I got to thinking. Was this incident all just a way to boost ratings? I just seems awefully convienient the apology took place after Taylor Swift was on "The View." I'm hoping that this isn't the case. I truly hope that networks aren't reaching that far out for ratings.

If the incident was real and not staged then Kanye West deserves all the negative attention that he is receiving. If it was all fake and just a way for the networks to boost ratings, then all parties involved should feel very ashamed of themselves.

Anyway I would like to thank Taylor Swift for the maturity she displayed during the incident and the maturity for how she handled it since. Good for her for keeping a level head.

  1. Kanye 100% did it on purpose. It's funny how a 17 year old showed poise and maturity during this whole ordeal. I'm guessing Kanye is approaching 30 and all he has been able to show the public is his propensity for being an attention whore. The VMA's were full of spectacles this year...that's why we watch. I'm on Team Taylor and I don't even like her music, I just hate moronic people.

  2. I didnt hear about this until today. I know "do I live under a rock"? I do not watch much television. But I believe that Kanye should have let Taylor Swift have her moment. He was concerned with saying that Beyonce had the better video. Well, if he would have waited a little bit longer he would have learned that Beyonce won the better award for video of the year.

  3. Did you hear that President Obama called him a jackass? Too funny, that. It's always nice to see a politician's less-polished side (like G.W. Bush flipping the bird at a camera for a video test).
